My name is Truman Copeland, and I am proud to call Boone County home. I am a 29-year-old follower of Christ Jesus, a husband, a father of two wonderful children, and Marine Corps Veteran. My greatest motivation in life is building a safe and prosperous future for my family and for all the families of Boone County.

I served as a 6156 Tiltrotor Airframe Mechanic in the United States Marine Corps, where I learned discipline, accountability, and the importance of leadership under pressure. Those five years of service taught me that integrity and hard work are not optional — they are the foundation of everything worth building.

After my time in the military, I returned home with a commitment to serve in new ways. I’ve continued my education in criminal justice with the goal of becoming a social studies teacher, because I believe our next generation deserves not only quality education but also examples of responsibility, patriotism, and faith in action.

I am also a man of faith. I am deeply involved in our church community, and I believe the values of faith, family, and service are what hold our towns and counties together. These principles guide me daily in raising my children, managing my home, and serving others.

Like many families here, we live on a budget, and I take pride in teaching financial stewardship — rooted in biblical principles — to help others manage their money wisely. I believe government should operate with the same sense of responsibility: live within its means, avoid waste, and always remember it is stewarding the people’s money.

As a veteran, a parent, and a community member, I see both the challenges and opportunities in Harrison and the surrounding areas. We face growing concerns with drugs and crime, financial pressures on working families, and the need to keep our kids on the right path. But I also see strong families, dedicated workers, thriving small businesses, and a community that wants to move forward together.

I’m stepping up because I believe it’s time for a new generation of leaders — leaders who will defend our freedoms, protect our families, and work to make Boone County a place where the next generation can thrive.
